Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders gathered at the Goodenterprise Summit

The second “good Enterprise Summit” organized by Endeavor and TÜSİAD and sponsored by Akbank and Turkcell convened on May 24th, 2012.

The Summit gathered in Istanbul with the participation of distinguished entrepreneurs, investors and business managers from Turkey and abroad, was opened with the addresses delivered by Mr. Özcan Tahincioğlu, President of the Board of Directors of Endeavor Turkey, Mr. Hakan Binbaşgil, CEO of Akbank, Mr. Cenk Bayrakdar, Deputy General Manager of Turkcell, Mr.  Metin Akman, member of TÜSİAD and Coordinator  of the TÜSİAD "These Young People Have the Potential!" project, and Mr. Tobias Edström  from the Business Models Inc. team.

The Summit was organized for the first time in 2011, and this years' theme was “Business Model Generation”. Day-long workshops of the “good Enterprise Summit” brought under the spotlights many case studies of  business model generation from the world, with a special emphasis on innovation and customer-focused strategies. In conformity with the  theme of the Summit determined as “Business Model Generation”, the speakers discussed topics such as embracing the novelties, generating new businesses, and defining a target audience.

During his keynote speech, Mr.  Metin Akman, member of TÜSİAD and Coordinator  of the "These Young People Have the Potential!" project stated that:
“In Turkey one of the main obstacles against entrepreneurship is the prejudice embedded in the cultural structure of the society. First in the family, then in the schools, a mindset unfriendly, or even hostile to entrepreneurship is cultivated. Here we are in need of a serious change, maybe a creative destruction. The young people have very good ideas about this subject and they surprise us. Our companies need also change. Our future success depends on our entrepreneurial ecosystem  which will grow stronger with the support of new entrepreneurs, male or female, young or old, however I believe that there is an important role to be played by the existing entrepreneurs in supporting the new generation of entrepreneurs not only financially, but also with their knowledge, know-how and experience.”
