The Application for the 2012 Best Young Lawyer has started

The application process has started for the “TÜSİAD Best Young Lawyer Award”. The awards are organized with the aim of contributing to the strengthening of the awareness on the state of law in the public opinion and to encourage the young lawyers to conduct distinctive research, and are presented to lawyers under the age of 40,.

The award has a different legal theme each year, and the theme of this year’s award has been determined as “Special Penal Laws”

The research works of the applicants are expected “to discuss the special penal laws, their numbers and scope, and the use of the penal law in the regulation of the economic and social sphere (business life, working life, etc.) with regard to its compliance to the principles of “Nulla poena sine lege” and “legal certainty”,

Application criteria:

The applications for the “TÜSİAD Best Young Lawyer Award” will be accepted until January 31st, 2013.

The research works of the applicants will be evaluated according to:
-    their singular and competent approach to the existing analyses,
-    their ability  to add new dimensions to the existing discussions, or to create new ones,
-    their contribution to a solution by bridging a legal gap,
-    their inspiration for new researches.

The applicants should be:
-    citizen of the Republic of Turkey,
-    owner a degree in law, or currently studying for a degree,
-    younger than the age of 40 by the official deadline of the applications (January 31st, 2013).

The applicants should submit personally:
-    their detailed CV including their photo,
-    the list of their research activities in the field of law
-    their research work (published or unpublished, academic report, book, research paper, etc.)  to be evaluated for the award.

The application will be completed with the delivery of the required documents either by electronic means or in the form of 6 printed copies to TÜSİAD before the end of the working hours of the declared deadline. The winner will be announced in February 2013. A prize of TL 10,000 of will be bestowed upon the award winning young lawyer.

One-time reproduction and publishing rights of the prized work of the award winning young lawyer will be reserved to TÜSİAD
