ORHAN TURAN ELECTED PRESIDENT OF TÜSİAD
The TÜSİAD General Assembly which convened on March 29, 2022 elected the new members of the TÜSİAD Board of Directors and the Auditing Board.
New members of the TÜSİAD Board of Directors were elected by the General Assembly. In its first meeting, the new Board of Directors elected Orhan TURAN as President of the Board of Directors and Murat ÖZYEĞİN, Mehmet TARA and Serpil VERAL as vice presidents. ORHAN TURAN– BIOGRAPHY:
Orhan Turan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ODE Insulation, Türkiye’s largest insulation company, graduated from Yıldız Technical University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1981. Mr. Turan taught at the graduate level at Marmara University (where he received his MBA), as well as at Sabancı University, Koç University, and Yıldız Technical University.
In 2008, he received Türkiye’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” award, sponsored by Milliyet Newspaper, CNNTürk, and Ernst & Young, and went on to represent Türkiye at the “World Entrepreneur of the Year” competition held in Monte Carlo.
For over thirty years, Mr. Turan has prioritized volunteering with non-governmental organizations throughout his professional life. In this context, he played an active role in the establishment of the Heat, Sound, and Fire Insulators Association (İZODER). Mr. Turan served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of İZODER from 1997-1999, as well as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Construction Material Industrialists’ Association (İMSAD) for two terms, from 2007-2011. Mr. Turan also served as the Chairman of the Board of the Board of Directors of TÜRKONFED between 2018-2022.
Mr. Turan has been a member of TÜSİAD for 18 years, serving as both a member of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board. He was elected TÜSİAD President at the General Assembly held on March 29, 2022.
Mr. Turan is married and has one child. He speaks fluent English.
