TÜSİAD: “With his intellectual strength, Birand has been the symbol of free thinking and objective reporting of journalism”

TÜSİAD released the following press statement about loss of the journalist Mehmet Ali BİRAND:

“We are deeply saddened from the passing of Mehmet Ali BİRAND, one of the leading Journalist of Turkey. With his intellectual strength, Mr. BİRAND has been the symbol of free thinking and objective reporting of journalism. His sensible reporting, sincere expression, and smiling face has won the ear and the respect of the whole country. Mr. BİRAND was also the mentor of many young journalists and he set the bar high in television journalism. We share the grief of the media community and of the esteemed family of the doyen of journalists Mehmet Ali BİRAND.”
