The report “Turkish-American Relations in the New Era: An Analysis and recommendations for a Stronger Strategic Partnership” prepared jointly by TÜSİAD and US Chamber of Commerce (USCC) is presented to the public on April 12th 2012, at the Ceylan Intercontinental Hotel, in Istanbul.
The report written by Sidar Global Advisors under the collaborative supervision of US Chamber of Commerce and USA Working Group within the TÜSİAD International, the Strategic Business Development unit of TÜSİAD is part of the activities for developing bilateral economic relations between Turkey and USA. The report analyzes current status and legal dimensions of the trade and investment relations between two countries; proceeds with examples of successful industries and companies in a global and multilateral framework and concludes with proposals for developing bilateral economic relations.
The welcoming speeches of the meeting were made by Ms. Ümit Boyner, President of the Board of Directors of TÜSİAD and Mr. Peter Rashish Vice President for Europe and Eurasia of the US Chamber of Commerce.
In her speech Ms. Ümit Boyner noted that USA has always politically supported Turkey's EU membership target and she emphasized that as a candidate country for EU membership, it is now the time of regarding Turkey within the framework of the Transatlantic economic integration.
