TÜSİAD: “Turkey must rapidly build up a discourse and willpower to strengthen the democracy, the social peace and the development process."

“Our country is passing through a convoluted period when the struggle against the terrorism is complicated by the instability in neighboring countries and ethnical and sectarian tensions are prone to become a threat.

“Moreover, the current convoluted process occurs while we are fighting to compensate the impacts of the global economic fluctuations on the one hand, and carrying on the preparation of a deeply hoped for new constitution reflecting our social consensus, on the other.

“The way to overcome this extraordinarily complex circumstance is, as the political parties and the NGOs, to build up a unifying discourse and willpower which embrace our diversity, and to take a common stance on this base.

“We believe that Turkey, with its parliament, its political parties and its NGOs, possesses a wise social reflex enabling it to defeat the scenarios of exploitation against our country and to refuse the surrender to violence. As the business community, we invite all the persons and institutions with a sense of responsibility to think together and to dialogue; and in this way to develop rapidly build up a discourse and willpower to strengthen the democracy, the social peace and the development process.”
