TÜSİAD CEO Forum hosts Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek

TÜSİAD's first CEO Forum of 2011 was held on 30th April at the Çırağan Palace, with the attandence of Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek. The meeting considered the role of finance policies in the Turkish economy's success in emerging from the global crisis at the international level, regarded as one of the leaders of the global recovery. 

The meeting's opening speeches were delivered by TÜSİAD President Ümit Boyner and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek. Stressing in her speech that today's data demonstrated that Turkey had distinguished itself positively in terms of its crisis management, Ümit Boyner continued "But at the same time, economies, like Turkey's, that have distinguished themselves during this period, face inflation and current account deficit threats as well as the unemployment issue. However much our Central Bank President Erdem Başçı states that there are no overwhelming indications of excessive overheating, and the CEO's participating in the TÜSİAD CEO Survey that there is no excessive overheating nor any need for cooling off in the conomy, the present high level of the current acoount deficit shows that we all need nonetheless to give some thought to the issue of overheating in the economy."
