History 1839 – 1939

History 1839-1939 has been prepared starting out from the book titled Histoire – Premières aimed at third year high school grades within the Hachette Èducation series of the Hachette Publishing House and under the supervision of Jean-Michel Lambin. The chapters on European and world history in the period between The Rescript of Gülhane (Tanzimat Fermanı) to before the Second World War has been translated into Turkish and the chapters regarding the political and social history of France have been taken out and chapters on the history of the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey have been inserted instead. While this was carried out, naturally changes have taken place in the book’s chronological structure and the book has been rechapterised taking the important turning points of the history of the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey. In addition, subsections giving information about the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey have been added to the three chapters at the beginning of the book that depicts the economic, religious and artistic developments.
