This report titled; “Conference on Strengthening Women’s Position in Politics” comprises the discussions held in the international conference organised on 12 June 2007 in İstanbul. In the first session of the conference, the country examples allowing for quota schemes in both their constitution and the related laws and in the adjustments made in the charters of political parties with the aim of enhancing women’s participation into politics have been put forward whereas the arrangements needed to be made in Turkey regarding this field in light of the international examples have been tackled in the second session.
