Many countries on the path of development have made use of the opportunities emerging as a result of globalisation and have accelerated their economic growth and created new employment opportunities. On the other hand, the estimations foreseeing a decrease in informal economy have not proven right. Turkey is one of the countries with a high concentration of informal economy. Globalisation and the target of full EU membership necessitates a new analysis of the dynamics triggering informal economy in our country to be made and precautions against it to be taken.
