Haluk Dinçer elected President of TÜSİAD


The President of the Board of Directors of TÜSİAD, Muharrem Yılmaz, resigned on June 4, 2014. Mr. Yılmaz has successfully served as Vice President (2010-2012) and President of the Board of Directors, contributing considerably to TÜSİAD’s national and international credibility. During his tenure, Mr. Yılmaz has taken exemplary steps to strengthen civil society in Turkey and promote the organizational advancement of the business world. TÜSİAD thanks Muharrem Yılmaz for his service.

 

The TÜSİAD Board of Directors convened in an emergency session on June 10, 2014 and elected Haluk Dinçer as President, in accordance with it’s bylaws and organizational culture. We wish success to Mr. Dinçer on his new position.

 

Biography of Haluk Dincer, President of TUSIAD

Haluk Dinçer

Haluk Dinçer is the President of the Retail and Insurance Group of Sabancı Holding, one of Turkey’s largest industrial and financial conglomerates.

Mr. Dinçer acts as the Executive Chairman of the Group’s four companies, three of which are international joint ventures: the mass-merchant chain CarrefourSA, electronics superstore chain TeknoSA, the pension and life insurance provider AvivaSA, and the non-life insurer Aksigorta, a partnership with the Belgian insurance group Ageas.

Since coming to Sabanci in 1995, Mr. Dinçer has held several leadership positions in automotive, food, and retail businesses.

Haluk Dinçer is the Chairman of DEIK / Turkish-American Business Council.  Mr. Dinçer is also the Vice-President of TÜSIAD – Turkish Industry & Business Association, and sits on the boards of the American Turkish Council in Washington D.C. and American Turkish Society in New York.  He has also represented Turkey at several G-20 Business Summits. Mr. Dinçer earned a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1985 and an M.B.A. in 1988, both from the University of Michigan.

Haluk Dinçer is married to Suzan Sabancı, and they have two children.
