On the 28th of January, President François Hollande met with the delegation presided by TÜSİAD President Muharrem Yilmaz and the Institut du Bosphore Scientific Committee Co-President and the Brookings Institution Vice President Kemal Dervis. France Foreign Affairs Minister Laurent Fabius, France Foreign Trade Minister Nicole Bricq, France's Ambassador to Turkey Laurent Bili, Galatasaray University Dean Ethem Tolga, Institut du Bosphore President and TUSIAD International Coordinator Bahadir Kaleagasi, Istanbul Modern Museum Chairwoman Oya Eczacibasi, TÜSİAD France working group President and Founding Member of Institut du Bosphore Esref Hamamcioglu and Institut du Bosphore Scientific Committee Member and Galatasaray University lecturer Prof. Fusun Turkmen also participated to the meeting where Turkey - France bilateral relations and Turkey - EU relations were briefly discussed.
In this context, Institut du Bosphore Scientific Committee Co-President Kemal Dervis, stated after the meeting“France, despite recent economic setbacks, remains a valuable friend for Turkey with its technology, cooperative social and creative cultural model.”
During the official visit, President François Hollande attended a breakfast meeting with the representatives of business world presided by TÜSİAD President Muharrem Yılmaz. During the meeting, a thorough assessments on the economic relations between Turkey and France were made.
