A TÜSİAD committee consisting of Ms. Ümit Boyner, President of the Board of Directors, Mr. Aykut Eken, Vice President of TÜSİAD International, and Mr. Zafer Ali Yavan, Secretary General of TÜSİAD hosted Mr. Zhang Wei, Vice President of CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, TÜSİAD's counterpart in China) and accompanying delegation, on April 6th, 2012, at the TÜSİAD Headquarters.
The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen economic relations between Turkey and China. Chinese delegation included high level business representatives from Hubei province in Central China and Jilin province in North Eastern China. It was underlined that future business development visits of the TUSİAD International, the strategic business development unit of TUSİAD, will include these two provinces as well. The meeting with the Chinese delegation proceeded with the discussion of investment environment in the mentioned provinces and possible cooperation in energy, automotive, machinery, IT, and mining industries.
During the meeting with the Chinese delegation, the influence of China in Africa, Latin America, and the Commonwealth of Independent States and the strategic position of Turkey for the possible joint ventures in third party countries were noted.
It was also noted that the programmed visit to China of the TÜSİAD delegation in July will offer a significant opportunity for deepening trade and investment relations between two countries.
Chinese delegation invited TÜSİAD to the forthcoming business events in China. In this context, the inclusion of Turkey to the “Going Global” seminars organized every year in April, in a different country was mentioned and the exposition of export goods, organized with the participation of more than sixty countries in Jiangsu province was introduced.
Finally, the Chinese delegation expressed their pleasure of the participation of Turkish business world to the exposition in Jilin province in September and proposed a collaboration agreement between TÜSİAD and CCPIT Jilin Section. Ms. Ümit Boyner, President of the Board of Directors of T TÜSİAD received the proposal favorably, and stated that the proposal will be considered by the Board of TÜSİAD in the coming days.
